Title:

"In his deepest, most authorative voice the officer told Peggy to "put the items on the trunk of the car and put your hands behind your back.""

Subtitle

""You're under arrest for theft of merchandise," he said."
Peggy was fearfully compliant while the officer cuffed her and walked her to the side of the car and opened the car door. He protected her head while she got into the back seat. One of his fingers snagged in Peggy's wig, tugging it off-kilter when he pulled his hand free. Then he recited her rights. Through the bangs that now partially covered her eye she watched his lips move but didn't hear a word, her senses numbed by shock. He impatiently buckled her seat belt, snugging it tight against her lap.
"That too tight, ma'am?"
"No sir."
He closed her door and circled around to the driver side and got behind the wheel."
