"He only drove two blocks before stopping at a four-way intersection."
"There were no other cars at the other three stop signs and he let his mind wander back to Hero. He closed his eyes and winced in pain. With his eyes closed he quickly passed out. His brake foot went limp and his older model truck rolled forward, hopped a curb and bumped a tree with just enough force to knock Peter's head hard against the steering wheel, waking him. It didn't hurt at all, and it didn't really damage his truck, but something didn't seem right and he decided to turn back home and go to bed.
His pickled brain was hemorrhaging and he never woke up again, not in this realm, anyway."
